This is one of the most
simplistic and economical ways to install a stair
banister.
If installing on any type of flooring on the steps, this type of install would be installed afterwards.
This photo shows how newel post (mounted on the ends and transitions points) and balusters (mounted between the post) are mounted into the rough tread (steps), with the carpet wrapped around the treads and balusters.
