95% of all installations take one day to complete. Timing, depends on the scope of the job and size of your stairs.
Can you give me an exact bid from pictures?
Yes. We have successfully provided bids via the Internet, for more than six years. Based on the photos/plans you provide and the details surrounding the work you want performed, we can provide an exact cost for your job.
How much does a banister cost?
With your email specifications and digital photos, we will determine the exact cost for the work to be performed. If requested, we will also include optional upgrades, variations, etc.
Because our focus/expertise is on wood stair products only, we are able to deliver a premium product at a very competitive price. We don't gouge or negotiate, so you can be certain you are getting our "bottom line price". You get all of this, in about a day or so. If you have a bid from another contractor, we are happy to review it.
Note: We don't sub-contract or hire temporary labor for any of the work performed. You get the experienced contractor on-site.
Do you work in other states than California?
We're based in Southern California. On a limited basis, we will consider and bid for projects in Hawaii. Inquire within for additional information.
Can you install a banister on wood flooring/ Pergo/ engineered materials on the steps?
Yes. Keep in mind that we do not repair, clean-up or add detail to the work performed by the flooring installers. As well, skirt boards (giving the stairs a more finished look) cannot be installed after the flooring has been installed.
Do you do Paint, Stain, or Finish?
No. With more than 20 years of experience, our main focus/specialty is in wood stairs ONLY and not the finish work. We don't provide referrals/make recommendations for vendors to paint or stain the stairs, as this is work we cannot guarantee.
Note: Many of the details are available in a white gloss primed finish, which doesn't require painting/finishing.
Do you do Pre-stain or Pre-paint stair parts?
No. Parts must be fitted and sanded.
Note: Balusters are available in a white gloss primed finish, which doesn't require painting/finishing.
Do you sell stair parts or material to build stairs?
No. We are not a retail company. We only bid to install banisters with our material.
I have most or all of the stair parts. Will you install them for me?
Do you make stairs with other materials besides wood?
If requested, we will use Iron Balusters on our wood systems, as seen on our website.
We DO NOT install modern/contemporary stairs to include: glass, cables, stone, tile, twigs, etc.
Do
you only have or make oak stairs & railings? We stock a full line of Red Oak, Hard Maple, Mahogany, Cherry, and paint grade systems. Oak is our leading species and our most economically proven as stain grade material (it's least expensive and the easiest to stain). Aside from Oak, other wood material is more costly.
Note: Any of the woods mentioned may be stained to achieve the look you want.
What species of wood do you work with?
We work with Oak, Poplar/paint grade, Maple and Cherry on a regular basis. Other hardwoods are available on a limited basis.
