This is one of the most simple, economical ways to install a stairs,

It is recommended that this type of stair system is installed, prior to the installation of carpeting or other floorings.

This photo shows how Post (Mounted on the ends and transitions) and balusters (mounted between the post) are mounted into the rough tread (steps),  with  the carpet wrapped around the treads and balusters.
